The Knox Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is accepting applications for the position of Urban Conservation Specialist. This is a full time position requiring a four-year degree in Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences, Civil engineering or a closely related field. An appropriate combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of formal education. This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to private landowners in the non-agricultural sector and implementation of working agreements for sediment and erosion control on urban construction sites with various units of government in Knox County.
Self-motivation, the ability to work in a team environment, as well as strong oral, written communication, and organizational skills are essential. Experience with residential or commercial construction techniques will be helpful. Computer skills including operation of Microsoft Office Suite programs, computer aided drafting (AutoCAD or MicroSurvey CAD) are necessary. Experience with the operation of ESRI GIS programs is preferred. Attendance at regularly scheduled evening meetings may be required. Applicant must posses a valid Ohio drivers license and will be required to pass both state and federal background checks. Salary commensurate with experience.
