CENTERBURG — Growing up, most kids dream of the day they’ll get to play on the high school team. Whatever their favorite sport, the kids look up to the varsity players, hoping that some day they’ll be that big and good at the sport.

Brandt Lambert and Skyler Simpson were no different. Both dreamed of one day playing on the Centerburg High School basketball team. As cousins, next-door neighbors and best friends, they hoped that some day they’d be the ones helping lift the Trojans to new heights.

This season, those two are seniors on the basketball team and have helped lead the Trojans back to the top of the Mid-Buckeye Conference and far along the tournament journey. The Trojans will play in the district finals Thursday against Bloom-Carroll.
