MOUNT VERNON — In high school basketball, ask any coach and they will tell you the same thing — players are too unpredictable. From day-to-day, game-to-game, coaches often don’t know what to expect. Two area players, however — Utica senior Abbie Corbett and Mount Vernon senior Niki DiGuilio — were a model of consistency for their teams this season, which has helped earn them the 2010 Mount Vernon News Girls Basketball All-Area Player of the Year honors. Centerburg coach Todd Nauman was selected as the girls Coach of the Year after leading a young Trojan squad to a 13-7 regular-season record and a third-place finish in the Mid-Buckeye Conference.
