FREDERICKTOWN — The Fredericktown Board of Education approved the hiring of Brian Baum on Tuesday to replace Luke Beal as its head varsity football coach.

Baum has been an assistant varsity football coach for seven years and head varsity boys and girls track and field coach for six years at Mansfield Madison High School. He has also coached seventh-grade basketball while at Madison.

Baum will teach social studies at Fredericktown.

Baum, a 1996 graduate of Dalton High School, interviewed for the vacant Dalton head coaching position earlier this year, but was not one of the school’s four finalists.
