  • Loudonville runs through Bulldogs

  • October 16, 2010 2:50 am EDT

HOWARD — It was a night when it seemed that whatever the offense tried, it didn’t work. The East Knox Bulldogs entertained the Loudonville Redbirds on Friday night and could not seem to get their offense going. Whenver there were some moments of positive offense, tunovers would rear their ugly head and prevent the Bulldogs from scoring. The Redbirds won 20-0.

After Loudonville (2-6, 2-3) took the opening kickoff and drove 56 yards for a touchdown and 7-0 lead, the Bulldogs ran five plays and punted the ball away. Six plays later the Redbirds punted the ball back, and EK ran only one play which was an intercepted pass. The Redbirds put together another long drive which ended in a 1-yard touchdown plunge by Ryan Weber for a 14-0 lead.

The Bulldogs (3-5, 3-2) finally got the ball back with 7:28 remaining in the second quarter and had run only six offensive plays to this point. Three plays later, it was another interception by the Redbirds. The East Knox defense held this time, and with 5:10 remaining before halftime drove down to the Loudonville 17 only to lose the ball on downs with 45 ticks left on the first half clock.
