CENTERBURG — For the second time in three years, the Centerburg boys basketball team has been honored for its work in the classroom.
The Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association has named the Trojans as one of their top 10 academic teams in the state this year. The Trojans finished fifth overall.
“This was a very pleasant surprise,” said Centerburg boys basketball coach Jim Simpson. “It says a lot about the character of this team.”
The GPA for the top nine varsity players are put together and sent in to the coaches’ association by Centerburg Guidance Counselor Nancy Hull. The Ohio National Guard unit from Mansfield will honor the team during their lunch on May 4.
