FREDERICKTOWN — One of the first nice days for track turned into a record-setting day for several area athletes.

Four records fell Friday at the Fredericktown Invitational, which included nine teams from the surrounding area.

Three of those records fell on the girls’ side, which was won by Highland with 121 points. Fredericktown was second at 117, followed closely by Clear Fork at 116.

The Centerburg 4x400-meter relay team of Amelia Holt, Ellie Holsopple, Kayla Bosworth and Victoria Holt set a new meet record, winning in a time of 4:19.25. The Trojans’ team of the Holts, Holsopple and Alyssa Burton won the 4x800 relay in 10:27.53.

Fredericktown freshman Emily Roberts set a new meet record in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:20.55. The other record was set by Johnstown’s Stephanie Loshbaugh, who won the 3,200 in a time of 11:56.45.

Fredericktown coach Bob Geiger mixed up the lineup a bit for his girls’ team and was pleased to come out with the second-place trophy.
