DUBLIN — The Centerburg Trojans had a good run. But on Saturday they were outmatched, outmuscled and outplayed by the Central District’s top-seeded Heath Bulldogs.

Heath won, 10-0, in a semifinal game at Dublin Jerome that was shortened to five innings by the run rule.

The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday. It was pushed back three times for weather, then again on Friday due to the lack of a well-conditioned field.

By Saturday, both teams were ready.

“I don’t think (the layoff) meant anything,” Centerburg head coach Joe Smith said. “It affected both teams.”
