MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon YMCA has announced that Eric Boggs is the new youth programs director at its facility.

Boggs is a 2000 graduate from Mount Vernon High School. While attending school, Boggs played baseball and was named team captain his senior year. Boggs was also president of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

“I’m excited to come back to my hometown,” Boggs said. “Mount Vernon is a wonderful place to group up, and one of the main reasons why I feel that way is because of the YMCA in this community.”

Boggs says the YMCA taught him important life lessons that helped him through school.
