SPARTA — The Knox County Royals are heading to the district finals.

Utica Post 92’s baseball team was impressive on Wednesday once again, scoring eight runs in the first four innings against Ashley Post 518. The team then hung on to an 11-5 victory, sending it just one win away from a 6th District championship and a slot in the state tournament.

For the first five innings of Wednesday’s game, Utica looked like the best team in Ohio, let alone the district. The Royals reached base and advanced in every conceivable way — base hits, walks, balks, stolen bases, passed balls and sacrifice flies.
