HOWARD — Sometimes, a team literally needs everyone to play their best.

The Centerburg Trojans faced a serious threat from the Danville Blue Devils in the Mid-Buckeye Conference tournament at Apple Valley on Thursday. It was the efforts of Centerburg’s No. 5 and No. 6 golfers that ultimately tipped the scales their way.

With the top four golfers on every team in, Danville held a five-stroke lead on the Trojans, 353-358. When Sam Miller came in with a score of 85, and Phillip Mann with an 86, it cancelled out the scores of Centerburg’s No. 1 and No. 2 golfers and lowered the team’s score to 345.
