CENTERBURG — The host Centerburg Trojans came out strong and finished strong with a solid performance throughout. They put together four solid quarters of football and wore down the Cardington Pirates, 22-8, to open the interleague season on Friday evening.
For Centerburg coach Jim Stoyle, nothing could be better than watching his seniors as they executed throughout the game.
“Our kids worked really hard in the offseason,” said coach Stoyle, whose team rolled up 22 first downs on Friday. “We’re playing an up-tempo style of game. The No. 1 thing we want to do is wear them out and I think we did that. The second half (Cardington) had guys cramping up the whole time.”
