UTICA — The Utica Redskins knew, going into Friday’s game against Granville, that they were outsized and outmanned. Things got worse with the suspension of three Redskins skill players before the game, for violating team rules.
Despite an admirable start and braving sauna-like conditions, it all proved too much for the Redskins (0-2) who were defeated in a 61-12 drubbing on their home field by the Blue Aces.
The Redskins managed to hold Granville to a 6-6 tie in the first quarter. The Blue Aces grabbed the early lead on a short pass to wide receiver Ajay Alderman from backup quarterback Isaac Maurer (14-for-20, five TDs and 222 yards).
