SPARTA — The host Highland Scots notched their first win of the year in convincing fashion — 41-6 over the winless Northmor Golden Knights — in Friday’s Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference game.
“It’s always good to win,” said Highland coach Chad Carpenter. “When we lost our first two games, you just keep fighting and working hard to get that first victory and, now, we have something we can try to build on.”
“We needed a win after two losses — that’s for sure,” said Highland quarterback Josh Gahm (7-for-11, one TD, 113 yards).
The good news for the Scots was a strong performance by the starting defensive unit that shut out the Knights for most of the game.
