FREDERICKTOWN — The Danville and Fredericktown football game usually has a lot riding on it. Conference supremacy, playoffs and just plain old, neighbor bragging rights.
This year’s game is no exception. Friday’s game at Fredericktown figures to be a key factor in who has a shot at the Mid-Buckeye Conference title and a chance for both to get some big points as far as the state playoffs are concerned.
The Freddies, after losing two straight nonconference games for the first time since 2004, are coming off a 58-7 whitewashing of Northridge in their MBC opener.
“It was just a matter of getting things rolling. We’ve got the talent. We’ve just got to put it all out on Fridays,” said Fredericktown coach Brian Baum. “We’ve been tested each week. That helps us get prepared for an intracounty rivalry.”
