UTICA — The Utica Redskins kept themselves in the Mid-Buckeye Conference race Monday, defeating the Danville Blue Devils 25-15, 25-17, 25-18 at home.
The match was evenly fought. Points were scored back and forth, with few runs of more than three points. It was those times when there were runs that made the difference.
Utica outscored Danville 14-1 in the middle of the first game. The Redskins went on a 5-0 run and a 6-0 run in the second. They had no long runs in the third; however, they won by not allowing the Blue Devils to score more than two points in a row.
For most of the match, there was little flow on either side.
