FREDERICKTOWN — Fredericktown’s Emily Roberts grabbed the lead in the final kilometer to win the girls varsity race at the Denny Stevens Invitational at Kokosing Reservoir.

Her time of 19:22 topped second place Emily Franz from Bishop Hartley by 14 seconds. Unfortunately for Roberts, her team finished sixth, three spots behind Mid-Buckeye Conference rival Centerburg, who was third.
