DANVILLE — Only the scenery was different.
The Utica Redskins swept the Danville Blue Devils for the second time this week in girls volleyball, to maintain their hold on second place in the Mid-Buckeye Conference.
Sarah Bandy (31 assists, five aces, seven digs) and Myranda Wolfe (16 kills) provided a lethal 1-2 punch for the Redskins as they took the Blue Devils down in three games, 25-7, 25-23, 25-16, on Thursday.
“We came in here ready to go,” said Wolfe. “We were all pumped up and we played really well in the first game.”
After getting out to an 8-0 lead in Game 1, the Redskins rolled to an easy victory. A little too easy, perhaps?
“I think, maybe, it got into our heads a little bit,” said Wolfe. “We lost our focus. We fought back, though.”
