CENTERBURG — When two dynamic offensive football teams match up, the winner will usually be the team that does the little things right — make good tackles on defense, play well on special teams and have an offensive line that creates holes.
Fredericktown and Centerburg both come in to Friday’s Mid-Buckeye Conference showdown at Centerburg touting well-oiled machines on offense. The Trojans (6-2 overall, 3-2 MBC) have scored 49 and 70 in their last two games, while the Freddies (5-3, 4-1) threw up a 48 spot on Utica last Friday.
Centerburg has exploded offensively since inserting sophomore Tyler Stoyle into the starting lineup as quarterback. Stoyle has completed 77 percent of his passes, while throwing for 850 yards in the four games (three of which were victories).
“He’s done a nice job. He’s very calm in the pocket and makes good decisions,” Fredericktown coach Brian Baum said of Stoyle.
