PATASKALA — The cross country rivalry between the Fredericktown Freddies and the Centerburg Trojans is about to get taken up a notch.
And, just for fun, you can throw a Highland Scot in there as well.
Fredericktown and Centerburg saw both boys teams give solid performances at the Central District tournament at Watkins Memorial on Saturday. So solid, in fact, that both teams qualified for the regional tournament. Both teams finished fourth in their respective races, with the top four in each race moving on.
The Freddies finished with 87 points, well ahead of Fisher Catholic. Nick Gaumer finished third with a time of 17:31.85. Third was where he was projected to finish, but Gaumer admitted he tried everything he could to win.
