PATASKALA — The district cross country meet was not very kind to the Mount Vernon boys and girls teams.
Tough competition and an even tougher, muddy course at Watkins Memorial on Saturday made for a long day for the young Yellow Jackets.
The boys team finished 12th overall with 330 points. The top five teams — New Albany, Hilliard Bradley, Pickerington North, Westerville Central and St. Charles — all advanced to the regionals.
“We did not run very well,” said Mount Vernon boys coach John Fair. “We just weren’t able to put it together today.”
