CALEDONIA — Highland had difficulty stopping River Valley runners all night, allowing 484 rushing yards in falling to the host Vikings, 45-20, in the final game of the season on Friday.
River Valley (7-3, 7-2) had two runners with about 200 yards apiece. Bo Keener led the Vikings with 25 carries for 211 yards, and Matt Green gained 196 yards on only 11 rushes. The Scots (3-7, 3-6) got nearly 100 yards from Hayden Mailey (26 carries, 95 yards), and Kyle Minyo had an 81-yard TD run. Quarterback play was abyssmal, as Highland’s Josh Gahm was just 4-of-16 for 65 yards and one TD, and Green completed 1-of-7 passes for 1 yard. Both teams committed three turnovers on the night.
