COLUMBUS — Area high school softball teams now know where they are headed when sectionals begin Monday, May 7.
The Central District held its draw on Sunday in Columbus.
Mount Vernon, the lone Division I team, won’t see a home game in sectionals. The Yellow Jackets will play at Westerville Central on May 7. If they win, they will travel May 9 to the winner of the Lincoln/Columbus West matchup.
In Division II, Highland will host Columbus East May 8, then travel May 10 to the winner of the Big Walnut/Walnut Ridge sectional semifinal. Utica hits the road May 8 to face Eastmoor Academy. The Redskins would then travel to Amanda-Clearcreek on May 10.
Division III Centerburg hosts Northridge in a Mid-Buckeye Conference rematch May 8, with the winner traveling to fifth-seeded West Jefferson May 10. East Knox travels to Pleasant, then would have Madison Plains. Fredericktown has a bye to the sectional final, where the Freddies will take on top-seed Liberty Union on the road May 10.
Danville received the No. 2 seed in Division IV. The Blue Devils host Granville Christian May 7. Should they win, they will host the winner of the Grove City Christian/Wellington game Wednesday, May 9.
