JOHNSTOWN — Fredericktown used big plays to dominate the first 3 1/2 quarters of action at Northridge on Friday night, and won its Mid-Buckeye Conference season starter, 33-14.
The Freddies (3-1, 1-0) had only nine first downs to 14 for the Vikings (2-2, 0-1), but outgained them 293-258. The reason for the discrepancy was five touchdowns, all for 29 yards or more. In all, Fredericktown had 229 rushing yards on 43 carries, and Austin Hathaway had a perfect night throwing the ball. Hathaway completed all five of his passes, one for a touchdown, for 64 yards.
