DANVILLE — The Danville Blue Devils faced a stiff challenge from the visiting East Knox Bulldogs in Mid-Buckeye Conference volleyball action on Tuesday. The Blue Devils, however, held on to win in four sets, 25-19, 13-25, 26-24, 25-17.
After Danville took the first set, East Knox moved ahead in the second set, 11-7, behind the serving of Mikayla Little (five kills). Teammate Danielle Totten (11 kills, 6 1/2 blocks, eight digs) blocked Danville’s Melissa Mickley (four assists, seven kills, three blocks and 12 digs) at the net to raise the Bulldogs’ lead to 23-13.
“East Knox came in here ready to play, for sure,” said Danville coach Ann Henry.
