PATASKALA — The Highland Scots are going where they’ve never gone before.
At Saturday‘s Central District cross-country race, at Watkins Memorial, the Highland boys cross country team finished third to qualify for the regional tournament in Troy.
“We’ve never trained any harder,” said Logan Ebersole, who finished second with a time of 17:36.74. “We knew we had a chance. It was nice to build up on that.”
Ebersole’s finishing time was less than 10 seconds behind Lakewood’s David Briggs for the top spot.
Ebersole had plenty of help from his teammates. Sophomore Kevin Jones came in ninth with a time of 18:03.14. Josh Irvin was 15th (18:29.02) and freshman Devin Johnson was 17th (18:37.24). Layne Burson finished the scoring for Highland by coming in 32nd (20:06.75).
