PICKERINGTON — Three area cross country runners will get their first taste of the promised land.

Centerburg’s William Thatcher and Fredericktown’s Bailey Gannon and Sarah Fowler all advanced to next week’s state cross country meet after finishing in the top 16 in the regional meet Saturday at Pickerington North High School.

Fredericktown’s Fowler advanced in her third try at regionals. She finished fourth overall in the Division III meet, crossing the finish line in a time of 19:26.06.

“It feels so good. All the hard work’s finally paid off,” the Freddie senior said.
