DANVILLE — Danville’s regional quarterfinal opponent will be Hannibal River, according to playoff matchups released by OHSAA on Sunday.
Danville (9-1) locked up the top seed in Division VI, Region 23 with its 46-21 victory over East Knox.
River earned its eighth seed with a 44-19 victory over New Matamoras Frontier, coupled with a loss by Reedsville Eastern to Racine Southern, 21-14. Eastern would have earned the spot with a win.
The game is slated for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on Friday.
Two other Mid-Buckeye Conference schools earned playoff berths Sunday. Johnstown (8-2) will host Gnadenhutten Indian Valley (6-4) in a Divison IV matchup on Friday. Despite a victory over Fredericktown in Week 10, Loudonville (8-2) dropped from fourth to fifth in Division V, Region 19, and will travel to Bucyrus Wynford (8-2) for a Saturday showdown.
The Ohio Capital Conference, Capital Divison is represented in this year’s playoffs by two schools. Third-seed Olentangy (9-1) will host Dublin Scioto (8-2) in a Division I, Region 3 matchup. New Albany (8-2) will host Beechcroft (8-1) in a Division II, Region 7 game.
In the MOAC, North Union (10-0) will host Galion. River Valley (8-2) nabbed the eighth seed in Region 10 and will travel to top-seed Napoleon (9-0-1).
