CENTERBURG — The Centerburg Trojans (8-2) successfully defended their Shelley Whited Holiday Classic title with a convincing 62-35 victory over the visiting Heath Bulldogs (5-4) in the championship game on Friday night.
Another solid defensive effort for the Trojans was augmented by 19-for-48 (40 percent) shooting from the floor. They also went 10-for-10 from the foul line in the first half and finished the night 21-of 23.
“We got compliments from Heath on how well we shot the ball tonight,” said Centerburg coach Todd Nauman. “Sixty-two points on the board tonight. We weren’t trying to look at the score as much as we were trying to execute better.”
