FREDERICKTOWN — Fredericktown’s Kayla Casto and Courtney Jackson combined for 19 points on Thursday, giving their team a double boost to help them to a late-season win.
Teammate Emily Williams dropped in 18 points of her own to give the Fredericktown Freddies (17-4) a 59-36 victory over the Cardington-Lincoln Pirates (5-14) in their nonconference basketball matchup on Thursday.
In the first period, Williams hit a pair of field goals early and teammate Macy Earnest (four points) landed two free throws to maintain a 17-6 Fredericktown lead.
“Macy’s tough,” said Fredericktown coach Wes Elifritz. “As a freshman, she’s one of the toughest kids on the court for either team. She’s not afraid to mix it up. We’ve been very happy with what she has given us this year.”
