GAMBIER — More than 900 swimmers converged on the Kenyon Athletic Center Sunday for the 45th Big Little Invitational on Sunday.
Sponsored by the Mount Vernon YMCA Barracudas, the meet featured contestants from the Southeast Ohio/West Virginia Y Swim League. Also present were teams from Wooster, Lake County and Ashland.
Amy Williams, president of the MV YMCA swim team, said the event started out as an invitational held at the YMCA, then moved to the Kenyon facility seven years ago.
”Kenyon has been very gracious to allow us to come in and pretty much take over for a day,” Williams said. “It’s been a great relationship and great support. This facility is really why we have 900 kids at this meet. This is a great place to swim. It’s a great swimming school. People know of Kenyon, people know about Kenyon swimming. It’s a fast pool and swimmers want to flock here.”
