MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon News has announced the rosters for the 2013 All-Star Senior Showcase.
This year’s event will take place Monday, March 18 at Mount Vernon High School. The girls All-Star game will begin at 6 p.m., with the boys game at 8 p.m.
A three-point contest will be featured between the games featuring some of the best long-distance shooters in the area.
In the boys game, the Senior-Stars will feature Danville’s Bryce Staats, Chris Severns, Austin Hazen and Mason Wears; East Knox’s David Judson and Chase Henthorn; and Utica’s Spencer Kendall and Seth Kirkendall. The team will be coached by Danville’s Doug Selvey.
Their opponents, the All-Stars, will feature Fredericktown’s Curtis Carpenter; Highland’s Shawn Beltz, Justin Deckling and Colton Stanley; Centerburg’s Zac Holsopple and Jared Borton; and Mount Vernon’s Seth Badger, Duke Cunningham and Eric Ashbrook. The coach is Fredericktown’s Mark DeLaney.
The girls Senior-Stars team will feature Utica’s Kelly Overton, Lareese Marston and Janae Wright; Highland’s Abby Garcia, Shelby Santille and Heather Thacker; Danville’s Megan Sharp; and Centerburg’s Stacy Fielding, Lindsey Daniels and Mikaela Weldy.
The team will be coached by Utica’s Terry Logue.
The All-Stars team will have on its roster East Knox’s Ashley Fowler, Kali Krownapple, Bridget Dennis and Danielle Totten; Fredericktown’s Courtney Jackson, Kayla Casto and Hope Huvler; and Mount Vernon’s Hannah King. The All-Stars will be coached by East Knox’s Jeremy Hubbard.
