CINCINNATI — Mount Vernon grad Russell Doup will once again be at the Scarlet and Gray game. But he’ll look a little different.
Doup has been given number 32 for his junior season with the Ohio State Buckeyes. And he has a new responsibility — playing secondary on defense.
Doup has been slated to play secondary on the second team for the Buckeyes’ intra-squad scrimmage, which will be played today at 1 p.m at Cincinnati’s Paul Brown Stadium.
The game will be shown today at 7 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.
Doup, a 2010 graduate of Mount Vernon, received offers from other schools but chose to play for Ohio State as a walk-on kicker. In two seasons, he has not seen any playing time.
He is still listed as a kicker in Ohio State’s football roster on the school website.
