HILLIARD — The Danville baseball team had its chances Monday.

The Blue Devils battled Worthington Christian in the Division IV District semifinals at Hilliard Darby, but couldn’t get the timely hits when they needed them, falling 2-1.

“This was a tough way to go out,” said Danville coach Brian Bratton. “We have to hit the ball to win. We had a couple of chances, thinking we hit the ball in the gap, but their center fielder tracked them down.”
