HOWARD — East Knox students have a brand new facility to use this summer, thanks to efforts by the school’s athletic boosters.

The high school recently opened up a new weight training room with new equipment and refurbished surroundings.

“I’m blown away by the generosity of our athletic boosters,” said East Knox head football coach Calvin Hatfield. “They put a lot of effort and a lot of time into this, and it’s very impressive.”

East Knox football players who went in to weight-train last week found new barbells, dumbbells, squat racks and adjustable benches. They also found a new rubber flooring that makes it easier to perform crunches and other floor exercises.

The new facilities were an immediate hit.
