It will be 50 cents for a single copy, for a year of the e-edition will be $73.00, which is our normal in-town carrier rate.

Archival How many times have you recycled or tossed a paper to only realize you needed it? An online subscription would give you the chance to retrieve the information without having to tear open garbage bags.

Features Our online subscription allows you save the paper as a PDF or an e-book. You get the same information in a different formats. And we're going to expand to our special sections, like the Looking Glass.

Local Journalism is not going to fall by the wayside because of the current technology. Reporting isn‚Äôt about ink on newsprint. It‚Äôs about people wanting to know what is going on and what it means to them.

An online subscription is just part of the evolution of the journalism industry.

I can view almost any e-paper in the country without paying a subscription. Why does the Mount Vernon News feel people will pay for their online edition when others are free?

It will be considered on a case by case basis. There are new schemes we’ll have to program in, with regards to credits, vacation, starting and stopping subscriptions. Some people may only want an online subscription, some might want both and some might want to switch, so we’ll have to review of the situation.

Will subscribers to the paper version be charged to view the e-edition? That is, if you already subscribe, will the e-edition cost extra to view?

A step in the right direction for this fine publication. No matter what else you say, thay have provided a service to this area and maintained neutrality withing the legal restraints they are sunject to. If they were a part of a corporate entity, things would be quite different, I can assure you.
