didn’t take him long to quit. just like ms. micheals, looking for something from my deceased
fathers estate or something. took them five years to catch NOTHING. don’t know if idiots
or jerks fit them but it sounds good.

It was one of the most stressful experiences of my life. We had our tax preparer go to the required meetings however that did not ease the stress in the least. Our tax preparer said that we were great record keepers and it was an “easy audit”. Not for us!

In each case, it was an unusual transaction that triggered the audit.
Two times it was related to items resulting from the settling of our parents’ estates.
Another time, it was due to a stock transaction. The key to coming out on top in an IRS
audit is having meticulous financial records. We have never had to pay a fine or a penalty.
Itemized deductions is the area that triggers the most audits so if you are claiming large
charitable deductions, for example, you’d best have proof.
