I support the staff that took the cats out of the shelter. The Humane Society has always been split between dog and cats. They need to come together and work the all animals. It has been my expeince that must of the people in the Humane Socity of Knox County can’t treat humans in a respective manner so how can you treat the animals in a humane manner. The main problem is the Humane Soceity is divided between Cat and Dog people. The need to come together and work the all animals. I will help support a no kill shelter, but if they start putting cats down for the no good reason then the Knox County Humane Soceity is not humane. At one time, I had 12 cats and 7 dogs, I am currently down to 4 cats and 6 dogs, so I think I am doing my share. Over a year ago the cat shelter ask me to take in a foster cat and I still have it because if I would bring hee back they would put her down. She is a very sweet cat but I really don’t want her, but I will not let them put her down, so I guess I am keeping her. She gets along great with the dogs but my cats don’t like her. Overall she is happier here then she was at the cat shelter. Come the Humane Society of Knox County come together for work for the cats, dogs and any other animal that needs it and be split like you are know.

Let’s get one thing straight. No cats were put down. THey were adopted, fostered and taken to other shelters that have no-kill or low-kill policies.

As soon as I read about the cat shelter, nothing went through my mind except they were put down — Everything is so hush-hush–If everything were done they say, they could have done that a long time ago–This whole thing “stink”! Who in the world, out of the blue, being sure the public doesn’t know “houses” 200 cats, takes cages and the “books”–can’t believe anyone would think otherwise–If this had not happened, I wouldn’t have a answer myself–but had the public known, they as myself would have come up with something—-Putting down 200 innocent cats is something I wouldn’t share with the public either—————-Have you ever seen a cat or dog put down? In my gut I know—and I hope you never get one nights sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!
