MOUNT VERNON — When the weather is bad and road conditions may be hazardous, school districts may cancel for the day or call for a late start. Recently, schools in the area have experienced two-hour delays, which get mixed reactions from those affected.

Susan, are you trying to make sense of this? Politicians don’t deal with yes or no, it’s always more advantageous to convolute a reply so you feel dumber than they are.

The one thing I don’t understand is, if the schools have a 2 hour delay, why aren’t the snow plows getting out there earlier for the buses. The buses in a two hour delay should not have to drive on unplowed county roads. Can’t the county trucks start earlier when there ia a 2 hour delay?? Our children deserve safety.
