I have installed a moat, security cameras, land mines, and guard dogs. I do all this because U.S. 62 is a paved highway that brings CRIME in from the BIG CITY. It’s true. Nancy Vail told me so.

People in Knox County are awfully nervous about all the recent increase in robberies/burglaries in Mount Vernon, Fredericktown and the S.E. portion of the county (Bladensburg/Martinsburg).

If people watch the indictments every month, they will see that arrests are being made for burglary/robbery each month; but if they don’t watch, they don’t know that progress is being made, and many of are the opinion that LE isn’t making any headway in arresting the people committing these crimes.

It makes sense to me that if LE would simply announce when they arrest a robber or group of robbers, that people’s minds would be better set at ease – and more would realize how hard LE is working and the successes they’re experiencing……I think the meet with the FBI agent, Sheriff and others was a great start in helping make the community aware, but that they could take it another stap forward and communicate with the public when various arrests are made.

Also, I believe the media is given copies of all arrests made for their info and publication; couldn’t they, too, help in this regard, and report when robbery/burglary suspects are arrested?

A loaded gun, 3 dogs and lock everything we can, and had AEP put a security liht up (we have to pay for monthly). We have called the police many times and even told them where the people live that were snoping around our property at night and they are not able to do anything! We have had things stolen in the past along with our neighbors and nothing is done.

I have set up an online neighborhood watch for all the crime going on – please everyone join and post anything that you hear of. I’ve only been about to find things in Licking co. to post and only going back to January 11th. All the help I can get in posting information the better.

I have installed a security system and have purchased a gun too! I lock all doors and make sure all windows are locked.
