What a statement to make to the people by the commissioners. As if there isn't enough doubt about the local banking institutions? In the late 90's an even greater statement was made when a worker at a local Credit Union, was caught embezling money through the institution, and hence made public. Only shortly thereafter, to be removed from the public eye and washed away by some miraculous virtue of an undisclosed order by whom, and for what reason?

I think it a shame that our county commissioners went to US Bank for this advice when there are several local banks that could offer the same thing with one huge difference; We pay taxes here, we live here, we have employees here. In other words, our stake in the county is far more important to us than it would be US Bank since they have absolutely no presence in Knox county. Your local banks lend money to businesses who hire people who pay taxes that put money in county payrolls. We offer leadership to charitable organizations that improve the local quality of life. We donate dollars to everything from Little League to hospitals. I would offer that the highest rate on deposits or the lowest rates on loans are rarely the "norm" for strong high performing banks as was noted by the representative from US Bank as he explained his bank's CD rates. We are more than happy to discuss such things at anytime.

Hey Commissioners !!!! How about educating your constituents on how your banksters are plundering us through their corrupt Federal Reserve System scam. Folks, just go on line and read how these theives summoned their agents to Washington in 1913 to vote this fraud in while the rest of Congress was on Christmas vacation.
The Fed System works to keep everyone in perpetual debt.
