So your father is Clarence huh? Kelly and Miguel have been real good friends of mine for many many years. I am trying to get some things together for them and there kids. Is there anything that your father or others in the home need? I know there was a baby (very cute) and another girl living in the home also. What size clothing do they need and I will see about getting some stuff together for them too. I hope you are all doing as good as can be expected in this difficult time.

My dad Clarence Frye lived in this building and helped so many he helps out wherever needed and doesn't ask anything in return, although there were many times he could have used the help he would always help others before himself. So I greatly appreciate all of those who might reach out and help him now. Even after the fire he still showed up at innerchurch to help for a couple of hours today.

AmVets Post #95 in Mt Vernon is accepting monetary donations for the Frye and Torres family, both men were veterans. The Knox County Veterans Service Office is also accepting donations of gently used clothing and household items. Neither family had renters insurance so all donations will greatly be appreciated. Please contact Mike Deem at AmVets 397-2119 or Melissa Wheeler at the Veterans Service Office 393-6742 if you have any questions.

The cost to upgrading the electrical circuits within these older structures remains a problem too expensive to address. There was a time when the state provided inspection service to insure safe living condition, but someone decided to save money and placed that responsibility on private contractors.

It actually became another way to licence (Tax) private enterprise and to avoid litigation because inspectors the state hired had no clue about electrical wiring. Inspectors gradually became just political appointees.
