CENTERBURG — The Centerburg Trojans Robotics Club won the Buckeye Regional FIRST Robotics competition held Saturday at the Wolstein Center on the campus of Cleveland State University.

    I was unbelievable moved by these kids. Last night, the students (many are seniors) looked at our finances, and choose to forgo their trip to the Championships to ensure that next years team would have the necessary resource.

    I could not be more proud of the kids.

    Thank you to Pam Schell and the Mount Vernon News for their consistent support of our local youth in their endeavors. This has been an exceptional group of young people and I have been very proud to be associated with them and share in their success. FIRST robotics is a wonderful program that allows students to learn engineering, programming, and business skills while paired up with adult mentors who volunteer their time.
