HOWARD — A little wind and cold didn't stop the 2010 Pheasants Forever Youth Field Day from being a success on Saturday. The second annual event, held at Campbell's Range and Farm near Howard, brought out a large number of youth, many experiencing the outdoors for the first time.

I would like to express my apppreciation for the many volunteers who made our second annual field day a success. From the 4-H Shooting Sports instructors, nature and leather craft volunteers, the Knox County Horse Park folks who allowed their animals to be ridden, the living history crew that allowed youth to try their hand at muzzle-loaders, the shotgunners, Boy Scouts, coon dog and bird dog demonstrators, Valley ATV, Knox County SWCD, to those who helped with set-up and tear-down, everyone worked together to provide a great opportunity for the youth to be outdoors for a free event.
