MOUNT VERNON — According to the Mount Vernon Police Department, a 12-year-old Mount Vernon girl was struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of McGibney and Sychar roads.

    I hope she recovers soon, but I’m not shocked that some on was hit. I try and cross there almost on a daily basis, and people just don’t yield to pedestrians. I’ve had to step back on several occasions myself. After a while I decided to step out and take my chances. If I survive the hit, I’m gonna be Rich!!!! Most drivers, just don’t care anymore. Drivers ettiquete is a lost and dying art, for the majority of motorists….
