Grant helps middle school students discover fitness

MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon Middle school students are discovering that keeping fit can be fun. Through a Carol White Physical Education Program grant, the old auxiliary gym has been transformed into a dedicated wellness room, full of age-appropriate exercise equipment.

I attended MV Middle school in the early sixties. We didnt have this program and we didnt need it. This is pure government PORK. Hey parents, why dont you get off your lazy cans and start an exercise with your children.

Does the headline say that the grant helps the kids “discover” fitness. Sad state of the world when it takes a government grant for kids to “discover” fitness.

All for the program, actually looks pretty cool, just funny that the wording of the story make it seem that it takes fancy equipment for kids to be interested in getting some exercise.

It’s for the good of the kids. That’s all i need to know.
