Census complicated in small towns

MOUNT VERNON — Some local residents have raised concerns about the way the 2010 Census is being administered.

  • L Wolcott

I live in a rural area and have a mailbox at the end of the lane and did not receive anything in the mail.
Friday a census worker came to the house and asked where my neighbors house was and that was all.
I do not think my family was counted.

  • Smithhisler, M.

John, it depends on how many people you plan to put in the hole.

  • John C. Davidson

The more people hired to make a simple count certainly will add complications which makes no sense unless the Feds have found it convenient during a period when jobs are scarce. The re-distribution of wealth has made us all a bit poorer, I fear.

It makes no sense to hire more than one person to dig a hole.
