What alice in LA LA land conveniently failed to include in the “one generation and out” quote was the actual context of the remark, which referred to heirloom breeds of cattle – http://hsus.typepad.com/wayne/2007/07/desperate-disto.html. The quote from John Goodwin, who manages our animal fighting campaign, is over 15 years old and doesn’t reflect his current views, nor has it ever represented the HSUS’s position. Our organization’s factory farming campaign addresses animal welfare issues in production, transport, and slaughter. HSUS membership and staff include both meat-eaters and vegetarians. sadly your article did not expand on what the HSUS really stands for .. let me clarify it for you:

That should give your readers a more clear view of what the HSUS stands for.. and any “compromise” given to them is an incremental step in the direction that they state above..
