I will always support our schools. I agree with Jacob , I can afford the amount it cost for three cups of coffee a month. Our children and our teachers are worth it.

It should be obvious to the citizens of this and all communities that people who are on salaries and/or are responsible (used loosely) for budgets based upon public funds are basically unaccountable and irresponsible because there are no consequences for bad management or misuse of funds (Freshwater) like there is in the private sector. I’m currently unemployed living on a greatly reduced income because of “revenue shortfall” (laughing at that term). Can I go to the state and ask for more unemployment compensation………um…no, I have to live with the shortfall and now they want more of my money to pay for their shortfall?…um……..no!

The school has done a ton of cost cutting and haven’t asked for new money in 16 years. I think education is important. People need to look past the politics and think about the education for the students.

Has the MV school system undergone any “cost-cutting” measures??? If not…no-one should give them more money. The stupid school board pi**ed away $800,000 on Freshwater case..no exactly being very responsible with our tax dollars.

In 1978, Prop. 13 passed in California. The schools went full throttle with scare tactics. “The Police Departments will close. The Fire Departments will close. The Schools will close. Teachers will be laid off. Government employees will lose their jobs. THE SKY IS FALLING! THE SKY IS FALLING!”. Well guess what? Did’nt happen. Things just got bigger and bigger. Now they are telling us how fiscally responsible they are going to be. (LOL) Folks,kill your television. Get wise and take a closer look at who you are putting on the school board.

I know I don’t have one of the high-value homes around here, but my home is a good match for my income. So, this levy would cost me the equivalent of around 3 cups of coffee per month.

I can afford that.
