They have played around with this property for too many years. Tossed it around, looked at it, had others look at it, ask for opinions, and so forth.
Just tear it down! Level it!
Life doesnt depend on a old broken down expensive building. It served its purpose, and its over & done now.
Sometimes people get too sentimental on things. Its turned out to be just a pile of clutter now, taking up space, an eyesore.
Flatten it to the ground. That land could be used for something really needed.
Not to mention….. it would show that owner that Mt Vernon isnt going to “beg” for the building, we’ll drop him like a hot potatoe!

‚ÄúOne of the reactions I had to the property when I first saw it was that it looked like an old haunted house”
with this being said this is not a modern home it is a piece of history, or has everyone forgot is part of the underground railroad that help slaves to find freedom, the condition looks bad for the city, why isnt there a foundation to help preserve this piece of history. the city should help pay to save it or even put the knox county jailbirds out there working fortheir keep
